The DAS Journal is published annually; some journals are organised around a specific theme, while other volumes offer a variety of original articles by experts in wide-ranging areas of the decorative arts, 1850 to present, which expand our knowledge and offer fresh perspectives.
The Society welcomes proposals for its journal, which may be sent at any time of the year. Proposals should give a clear idea of the content of the article, ideally with a sample illustration. They should be object-based, roughly 500-1,000 words in length and will be given careful consideration by the DAS Editorial Committee. If the proposal is accepted for publication, then detailed ‘Notes for Contributors’ will be sent to the author. Finished articles should range in length from approximately 2,500 - 6,000 words, plus end notes, captions, and copyright-cleared illustrations. The Society is a charity and cannot offer a fee for articles, but some assistance may be available for illustrations on a case-by-case basis.
Proposals should be sent to the Editor, Stella Beddoe.
