Wiener Werkstätte: Commerce and Collaboration, 1903–1918

Zoom lecture by Elisabeth Bogdan, at 6.00 pm (London). At the turn of the 20^th century, Vienna witnessed a radical moment of Secessionist avant-garde art and culture. This lecture focuses on the manufacture and commercial activity of the Secession’s applied arts branch, the Wiener Werkstätte, looking at its luxurious and innovative craft Gesamtkunstwerk collaborations, together with the unique consumer base that supported it.
