Visit to the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom

UK EVENT

Tue 20 Nov 2018

Since its formation in 2009, the Supreme Court, the highest court in the land, has been housed in the former Middlesex Guildhall in Parliament Square, designed by Scottish architect James Gibson (1864-1951) in what Pevsner described as ‘Art Nouveau Gothic’ style. Constructed 1906-13, its handsome Portland-stone exterior, with tower and turrets, is decorated with sculptures by Henry Fehr (1867-1940). The event starts with tea in the Court café (own expense), after which we shall be given a private tour, to include the new triple-height law library, three court rooms, many artworks, original as well as specially commissioned modern furniture - and a pop-art carpet by Sir Peter Blake.
