Visit to the Royal College of Physicians, London
UK EVENT
Thu 15 Mar 2018
Opened in 1964, many consider the Royal College of Physicians building next to Regent’s Park to be Denys Lasdun’s masterpiece, its importance as a modernist building recognised by its Grade I listing.
He had a generous brief from the College and spent time researching its history and ceremony before designing the building. Our visit will start with a tour of the building and its museum. After a brief tea break, one of the Fellows will show us the garden that contains over 1100 plants with medicinal links, which give a perspective on the history, beliefs and culture of medicine.
