The Isokon Gallery is housed in the iconic building designed by the architect Wells Coates and built in 1934 in Lawn Road, Hampstead. This daringly modern apartment block was the epicentre of North London’s avant-garde. The gallery provides a history of its buildings, its founders, its architect and its famous residents, among whom were Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer and László Moholy-Nagy, as well as displaying furniture created for the flats and produced by Jack Pritchard under the Isokon furniture brand. We will be welcomed by the gallery’s director Magnus Englund.
