Visit to Cheffins, Cambridge, and The Fitzwilliam Museum

After refreshments, members will preview the forthcoming Art & Design Sale at Cheffins auction house, showcasing decorative art from the 1860s to the present, with talks from specialist valuers on furniture, objects and paintings. After lunch in the café at Cheffins, members will make their own way to The Fitzwilliam Museum. Helen Ritchie, curator of the two ceramics exhibitions on display, Things of Beauty Growing: British Studio Pottery and Flux: Parian Unpacked, will take members round both exhibitions. If time permits there may be an opportunity to handle some of the Museum’s collection of studio pottery in the Applied Arts Reserve.
