Visit to Central St Martins Museum and Study Collection
UK EVENT
Wed 28 Feb 2018
The Museum tells the story of Central St Martins’ rich history and has been collecting work by staff and students since the late 19th century in areas from fashion and textiles to ceramics, jewellery and product design. The teaching collection encompassing artworks and archives from the 13th century to the present day is particularly strong in work by members of the Arts and Crafts movement, including the designer and architect W.R. Lethaby, founding principal of the Central School. The curator of the collection, Anna Buruma, will introduce us to its highlights. Afterwards we will go for refreshments to a nearby at and see a small collection of modern and contemporary glass.
