Private View of British Art Pottery at Woolley & Wallis

Woolley & Wallis invite DAS members to view the British Art Pottery auction which includes the Martin Brothers collection of George Twyman. This academic collection has over 200 pieces of Martin ware from the early production from the 1870s and an extensive archive amassed by George, including part of Ernest Marsh’s contemporary archive and some original drawings by the Martin Brothers. The exhibition and view will be complemented with a talk by Christopher Jordan, the acknowledged expert on the Marsh collection. The visit will provide an opportunity to handle numerous Martin Brothers pots and contemporary wares, including William De Morgan and Doulton Lambeth.
