Historian and author Alec Forshaw will lead a walk around the historic area of Smithfield in central London, looking at the splendid late 19th- and early 20th-century market buildings and discussing their future, which includes a new home for the Museum of London. The walk will then venture into St Bartholomew’s Hospital, the Hall of the Founders’ Company in Cloth Fair, and finally the nearby Charterhouse, before adjourning to the picturesque Art Nouveau Fox and Anchor public house in Charterhouse Street.
