The Holland Park area is richly associated with artists and architects of the Arts and Crafts period, including Lord Leighton, Holman Hunt, Philip Webb, Halsey Ricardo, R. Norman Shaw and William Burges. We shall pass by the homes of several of the famous painters, as well as the eccentric Tower House, designed by Burges for his own use. Our walk will take in stained glass by Burne-Jones and Byam Shaw, the soaring glass interior of Holland Park School’s dramatic new building, and decorative features in Holland Park itself, before finishing with wine in a nearby pub.
