A VISIT TO HANS COPER: RESURFACE, THE ARC, WINCHESTER

UK EVENT

Fri 28 Feb 2025

Join Neil Hyman in an informal visit to The ARC (10 mins walk from Winchester station) to view this important exhibition of the work of Hans Coper (1920–1981), an artist at the forefront of ceramic innovation in the second half of the 20th century. The exhibition brings together Coper’s three commissioned murals, made in 1960, for the first and probably only time. These murals were an important factor in his creative development and the exhibition explores this experimental, ‘architectural’ period in his career. The exhibition also includes over twenty of his sculptural vessels.

There is no need to book; just turn up at The ARC, where we can meet on the mezzanine outside the exhibition and view a temporary show of contemporary studio pots. After the visit the group will head off for refreshments (at own cost) to discuss the exhibition.
