A TOUR OF KELMSCOTT MANOR, GLOUCESTERSHIRE
UK EVENT
Wed 19 Oct 2022
Kelmscott Manor will be well known to DAS members as the country retreat from 1871 to 1896 of William Morris, who saw it as his spiritual home. It has been owned by the Society of Antiquaries for many years. This visit has been timed to see the house (which reopened in April) and its contents following a £6 million restoration project. In this afternoon tour we will see the collection of textiles, furniture, including furniture from Red House, and works by Rossetti and Burne-Jones.
Participants will need to make their own arrangements to reach Kelmscott by car. For more information, contact the organiser David Wurtzel: davidww35@gmail.com
