A Private Visit to Cressida Bell’s Studio
UK EVENT
Wed 16 Oct 2019
Cressida Bell, the granddaughter of Vanessa Bell, will give an introductory talk encompassing her Bloomsbury heritage and her own practices as a contemporary artist, designer and maker. Cressida, whose individual style has Bloomsbury echoes but is more meticulous in its design and execution, produces unique textiles, lampshades, cushions, scarves and more, handprinted or hand-painted in her London studio. The talk will be followed by a demonstration of her textile printing, using a flat-bed technique, and we will finish with wine. There will be an opportunity to discuss Cressida’s work with her; it will be on display (and available to buy) during our visit.
